Call Your Senators: Stop ICE!

Defend Public Health joins Nurses for America,National Nurses United, the American Association of University Professors and many more organizations across the country to demand accountability from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and ICE as the nation reels from another brutal murder at their hands, bringing the known 2026 death toll to 9:

Alex Pretti
Renee Good
Keith Porter
Heber Sanchaz Dominguez
Victor Manuel Diaz
Parady La
Luis Beltran Yanez-Cruz
Luis Gustavo Nunez Caceres
Geralodo Lunas Campos

We deplore the recent murders in Minnesota and elsewhere while remembering murders committed by ICE in Chicago, LA, and in ICE detention in 2025.

With a vote on funding bills coming soon in the U.S. Senate, we urge all of our members to call their senators today to urge them to block funding for DHS and ICE until measures are adopted to hold both accountable for their violent and unlawful tactics, which continue to threaten communities across the country. This is a public health emergency, traumatizing entire communities and making residents afraid to seek medical care for fear of being kidnapped or killed. With FY26 funding on the line this week, it is time for the U.S. Senate and Congress as a whole to take aggressive action to stop the assault on Black and brown people in our communities.

Call the congressional switchboard at (202) 224-3121 to be connected to your Senators’ offices.
